The large evening menu is complemented by daily specials; for those with a smaller appetite, The Rising Sun offers a selection of light meals served at lunchtime, and a variety of bar snacks. The pub has a growing reputation for fine pies, home-cooked by John, and these come highly recommended.
Meals can be accompanied by a wide variety of drinks, including Bass, Abbots, Stella Artois, traditional cider, spirits and wines. The West Country cider comes from the famous Thatchers press, a superb local producer with a reputation for quality.
