...to The Rising Sun, a traditional country pub set within the beautiful countryside of Pensford in rural Somerset, within easy traveling distance of both Bristol and Bath. With a large riverside garden, almost encircled by the slow-flowing Chew, and a palpable feeling of history surrounding both the pub and the area in general, you're sure to find it a relaxing and rewarding place to while away an afternoon.
Stone built, with traditional wooden rafters and a log fire, The Rising Sun has evolved over many years, and is quite literally one of a kind. The core values of the place are no less traditional than the building itself; good food, fine drinks (including the much-loved Abbots Ale), and (of course!) West Country cider from the Thatchers press. There is also a wide range of wines and spirits.
...but hard to leave. Set a little way back from the A37, broadly equidistant from Bristol and Bath, the Rising Sun is easily-accessible and offers ample parking space. For those without cars, there is a bus-stop not thirty paces from the front door - and taxi fares to the cities are quite reasonable, too. Alternatively, one might consider stopping by along the route of the beautiful River Chew Walk.
...stop by for an afternoon, an evening, or both, and sample this delightful pub for yourself. The friendly atmosphere and the excellent food and drink should ensure it is an experience you will have little cause to regret.
